The Story of Avery's Bravery

HeartAvery Bond was born March 13, 2009 and lives in Rockwood, Ontario with her proud parents, Christine and Randy Bond, and her big sister Taylor. Avery had life saving heart surgery at 13 days of age to repair a Coarctation of the aorta (narrowing of the main aortic valve). After surgery Avery developed swallowing issues due to vocal chord damage and she was sent home two weeks later with a feeding tube in her nose.

This strong little miracle fought back hard and is now a healthy, thriving, beautiful little girl who is full of life and lets nothing stop her from achieving what she wants. We want to celebrate Avery’s 3rd year after heart surgery and give back to Sick Kids Hospital for saving her life. To date $13,000 has been raised! Please celebrate with us and join Avery in her ongoing bravery battle.

Update on Avery

Avery recently had her heart checkup with her cardiologist at SickKids Hospital and was given a 2 year all clear. So no more heart checkups for 2 years - quite amazing as Avery had to have checkups every 3 months. Avery also has Turners Syndrome, which causes several other health complications, but Avery is doing well and will be celebrating her 3rd birthday on March 13.
